ABOUT HOTEL

Kootenay Park Lodge was originally constructed in 1923 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. The main Lodge and surrounding cabins are a piece of true antiquity, making for an unapologetically rustic mountain experience. From its origin as a destination for adventurous explorers, we’ve enhanced our cabins to offer more warmth and coziness. With the assistance of our hard working staff, we take great passion in cooking fresh meals, preparing baked goods, cleaning and maintaining the astonishing cabins and surrounding property. Our lodge is the only development in Kootenay National Park, it is located approximately 45 minutes from Banff, Lake Louise and Radium Hot Springs. Located along Highway South at Vermilion Crossing, the property is surrounded by the stunning Picturesque River. Our heritage cabins have been spruced up, yet maintain their original character. Four cabins still have river stone chimneys and wood-burning fireplaces; these finishing touches provide a snug environment to unwind in. Two of our modern Vermilion cabins include gas fireplaces. Lodge dining is available to guests and visitors each evening, the meals are made at the lodge and we use locally sourced products when possible. At the General Store, we offer a wide selection of grab-and-go breakfast items, baked goods, sandwiches, snacks and coffee. In addition to unique gifts, Kootenay Park clothing and souvenirs. You’ll feel as if you have stepped back in time walking among our historic cabins and experiencing the friendly service. We don’t have cell phone service or television/ cable reception; however, we do provide Wi-Fi. Kootenay Park Lodge is surrounded by loads of wildlife and scenery.
